Gord Murphy. I remember when Dale Hunter tried to decapitate him. It was a very ugly hit. I hope he has a few marbles left.

The Devils' owner forgot Barry Melrose's phone number, so Ruff got the job.

I seem to remember the Rangers have some sort of weird lease agreement with MSG. They can only hold home games there or something like that. Does this mean the Rangers will only be the road team in the best of 5 series and if successful any other series? Do they never get 2nd change?

Yeah we were discussing that a little bit back. Apparently it doesn't apply in the case of a pandemic, and a bunch of other things(smart lawyers). Jan posted it a few weeks back

I do think it might have to be something we watch for over time. I think our saving grace is that our culture in our organization is much different than the Flyers. To me they are somehow the cross of corporate indifference (Comcast/Xfinity) and an old boys club.

Anyone can make any number of justified jokes about this team, but I actually think that our culture has been pretty good the past couple decades. Just hope one day the Knicks improve so Dolan cares about us even less.

I've always said there's always a price where it's not an issue. Contracts are made to be broken sometimes, if somebody really wants to make it happen the right person will be paid off.

what happens with the AHL next year is going to be very interesting.

Those teams cant play without fans in the arena, and without a place to play, it's going to end up being like we have a constant 10 guy taxi squad of guys who dont get to play real games

I think on some level we would loan more guys to the KHL/Europe. The issue will be when you need emergency callups or just want to give guys a cup of coffee. Wouldn't be very efficient to shuttle people back from Europe/Russia and then back in a couple weeks.

I think there is a way where they could sort of do a hub system with AHL teams. I'm really not sure how much AHL teams are subsidized by franchise agreements, but I could see some sort of agreement where the parent club injects more capital into the farm clubs or even the league itself steps in. With college and perhaps even juniors being scrapped this upcoming year, minor leagues will have to exist in some form.

I believe that clause is only regarding games in New York City.
I remember someone saying at the time that we were the road team to Buffalo in the outdoor game at Citi Field because the Rangers could not be "at home" in the city unless at MSG.
Could be wrong. We have some Rangers Historian's around here that might know better...

Gonna be interesting to see all the legalities of everything. I saw something last week that according to the definition from the CDC, due to the decreasing rates of death regarding covid-19, it doesn't even qualify anymore as an epidemic, much less a pandemic. Sure the "infection" rates are going up again in some areas, but the deaths are dropping steadily. So it'll be interesting to see how everything gets classified.
